Put this in today, I hope it doesn't burst into flames.:tongue3: Didn't have the time to faff about and get the cabling 'perfect' as I had so much to do today but I think it's ok. With the BG boards I generally 're number' the earth bar as to me it's illogical having the CPCs running in the opposite order of the neutrals,I'll miss the insulated CUs. Sorry about the
poor photo. :)

No word of a lie a guy we spoke to said I'm going to stock pile them when "banned" and sold of cheap still fit then but back date the sheets. [emoji33]
I honestly wonder sometimes why these people call themselves electricians.
The same guy stock piled red and black and still gets it if he can so "you don't have to use an RCD" then.

Im sure we were using blue and brown cable before we had to fit RCDs to protect cable , mind you a guess it would save him the cost and time if putting a wiring colours sticker on the CU :)
Yes so if the cable changed before having to fit rcds that means there would also be no requirement to fit rcds on the old colours. ..

That's My point just because the cable is a different colour it has no bearing on if an RCD is required or not ,it down to installation methods etc ,this guy is a cowboy how would he certificate is work (back date it) :)

I'd honestly like to think he was joking but got the impression wasn't.
He may go as far as to save the old cable when he rips stuff out I suppose he could even use VIR when putting in 3036 fuse boards.
Gave us something talk about in the van on way home that night anyway

Well with an all RCBO board [of which I've installed quite a few] I always leave spare ways. Now can you post up a picture of one of your CU installs which I'm sure will be absolutely perfect ? But you never know,I might be able to make pointless negative observations if I can be bothered. Merry Christmas.

Davesparks got a new account? :tt1:

Some guys as can be here do some fantastic work. One of my colleagues does the most exceptional consumer units/dis boards. Mine are ok, not bad but just not the kind of electrical perfection than others strive for. His takes days and he moans about everything, mine take a few hours and have never spontaneously combusted or had any call backs. On my company I'm the lackey, the lackey who is actually cost effective though.
