ok so im 17 and was fresh out of college i managed to find myself working with a group of sparks.
my problem i cant really work upto there expectations even if its just cleaning up, im not really motivated that much but i really dont wanna loose this job.
i find it hard to be energetic in my work like sweeping fast instead of slow and my feet are nakered after every day im getting up at 6.oo to get to work for 8.oo and finish around 19.00 getting home for around 21.oo just to
sleep and get up again.
also the lads im working with dont stop for any kinds of breaks no lunch or outhers (apart from maybe a smoke every couple of hours).
any advice for ways to stay energetic and motivated please share

ÂŁ30 a day, isn't that below the legal min wage..

I know it's not what you want to hear but you need to motivate your self, there's nothing anyone can say to make you graft! You got to have it in you your self. Maybe your not motivated or interested in what the blokes are doing because deep down Being a sparky isn't really what you want to do, where you pressured into getting a trade?

honestly i dont care about money, and its not that im not motivated to do it but more ive lost motivation from becoming exhausted. always wanted to learn a trade or even afew trades, was hard getting work not actualy knowing anyone to give it to me.

yep which is why i made this thread for help ^^

so now youv'e read the thread i take it you are full of motivation?

Being tired/ exhausted from a hard days graft is normal - ask anyone working a trade (probably the same for office staff etc, but who cares about them wimps)

You never get used to it you just plod on - get up graft go home rest, start again ask the guys who been doing it 50 years it gets harder with age not easier.

MOTIVATION - is a different beast entirely - evey working spark on here will tell you they love the job they do and that is key to being motivated for work.
How many people drag themselves out of bed dreading the day ahead, working for peanuts doing crappy jobs they hate.

Maybe the sparky world is not for you, but if it is - get your head down , learn everything you can and before you know it youll be hearing "damn that boys a grafter"

alternatively asda are taking on :)

Pay atention pre empt what your man/men are doing get stuff ready ,laid out hand them next bit take stuff away clear up with out askin If they are doing something and have a bit of time ASK what they are doing Why they are doing it and if you dont understand ASK again its all uphill from beign an apprentice as for the comments about money Thats the way of it but where mr bod@McDs gets min wage at 17 he will still be on or near min wage when hes 21 and you will have prospects way above what he has British Gas are getting Apprentices over 18 to PAY for the privalage of their training it does cost firms a good bit to put apprentices through their timne as its unproductive but in the end its the apprentice who decides what to make of it
