Hi Guys,

I have prolonged doing my 17th edition (2382) update since completing my 2330 level 3 last year.

To my horror it has now gone from a 1 day course at ÂŁ150 to a 3 day ÂŁ444 course since the start of the year.

Does anyone know of a cheaper option????

Cheers

have a word with your local college. the full course for 2382 ( 17th ) can be done 1 evening a week for 12 weeks, and the cost, including ÂŁ35 for the exam, is under ÂŁ250.

i think i understand now tele, just didnt get before how if you qualified last year that you were not deemed as 17th ed,
As when i qualified in 2005 i was 16th. i only had to do 17th to get fro 16th to 17th, i presumed that if you qualifed last year you must be 17th and would not have to do any other course. Seems like city and guilds has become as much a rip off as everything else, as i said cant see much point in this game anymore, it seems like qualifications and bits of paper count more than actually beeing good at anything

didnt think you got the 2381 with 2360, thought that was separate too??

whats 2381? i did C+G2360 passed in 2005, then i did 2382-10 in2009. Too many bloody course numbers these days!!!
anyway, what i am saying is i was 16th edition when i did my 2360, didnt have to do a seperate course, which apparently you have to do now, on top of a nvq3 am2 and 2391!!!!
whats even worse is that the same people who want/require/demand all these qulifications are the same people who pay the lowest wages!!! the LAW doesnt require any qualifications!!!

looks like you was trained to the 16th, not qualified to 16th then cos 2381 is bs7671 16th edition and is separate from 2360 just as 2382 is separate from 2330

never heard of it in the last 6 years of being 2360, not when i went for ecs or when i went for my 17th or when i got my 2360, no -one ever said after 3 years of college now you need to do some more

cheers howard. but like i said earlier i spoke with the training centre. he said i don't need to do the 3 day course, and that i could just sit the exam.

Thanks mate you have just saved me about four hundred quid.

I will also just sit the exam and do a load of home study.
The trouble is there are no past papers for the big green book.
I guess I will practice on past papers from the big red book but look up the answers in the big green book.
I have a load of past papers for the big red book.
Also the scheme providers I have spoken to allow you to sign on with their schemes on the condition you pass the 17th amendment one exam within six months.

Google e-qualified. They do a home study training and supply practice questions. Also included is the final exam in exam in Northampton, all for ÂŁ129
