Hi guys, i have just moved into a bungalow which is really old. All electrics and all are ancient. With a new consumer unit with rcd, mcb or rbo's, how do you work out the circuits? For instance, in a 2 storey house, you have a ring main for upstairs and down stairs. But how do you seperate them in a bugalow?

Hi Mutley,

I need to buy a new boiler, some radiators and some pipe. I'm not going to fit them.

..... Will you come and fit them? I'm sure the parts are right as they came from Plumfix, nice and cheap.

i personally have never felt comfortable with clients purchasing their own parts.. not becuase of profit margins but because i cant gauruntee that they'll work as intended. If the parts fail well then you will have to be the one to replace it at extra cost. If i bought it and fitted it then i can gauruntee it will work and if it failed... i can take it back to my supplier and have it replaced at no cost..

Nice Murdoch, thanks, i get the picture now. I just had this happen to me last week, but, the boiler was 2nd hand and had been fitted before my some brazillians who were not gas safe, so the gas engineer before me condemned it.

Cheers all you guys for your advice.
