Hi i had my garage converted in to a office about 5 years ago. Today i went out to my garage and there is no electric. I have checked the mcbs in the garage and they are all in the correc possitions and allso the main mcbs in the house and all are in the correct positions can any one point me in the right direction in to trouble shooting it pls.

OK, that doesn't look like a particularly bad joint. Unfortunately the box has been leaking & letting in water, it either needs re sealing or preferably replacing. In all honesty I'd replace the connectors with Wago's at the same time.
Have to say the cable looks rather thin to be feeding all you have on it, ask the electrician to check that as well.

Agree with telectrix, the armour should have been earthed.

Hi - post #43 - its hard to diagnose via the internet, but I think the cable is burnt (looking closely at the blue and red at the base) a sign of overload. In the house fuse board, what's the mcb rating that protects the black cable going to the garage?

That's an MCB at the supply end, hopefully that's fed via an RCD in your house Consumer Unit ? The rating would be fine for the cable feeding your garage but with the 3kW spa thing there wouldn't be much spare capacity at all. Also the main switch at the garage end board must have had a loose connection or an internal fault to overheat and fail like that.

Yes that's good, some will say not ideal as an earth fault in the garage will cause the loss of the other circuits supplied via that RCD, but the main thing is you have overcurrent and RCD protection for the garage.
