i'm saying nowt as the missus has just paid close to 15K on a 3 year old ford grand C max.

May be cheaper to replace the missus in the long run..... :)

I can't afford £17K for a car. I wouldn't even pay that price if I could.
I do get where you are coming from. I just don't like the saying.
I can't either, but wouldn't anyway! New cars are the biggest waste of cash going......Ouch that sounds expensive Tel, does she need a new CU??

it's far more than i'd pay, but it's like being on board the starship enterprise. it'll take me a week to find out what all the fancy bits do. it can even parallel park itself. apparently, the new price was 28K.

why not put it at the botton of the quote with cheques being the most expensive put a charge as they are a pain in the arse.

im sure they wouldnt bat an eye lid at an admin charge for cheques but cash and card payments no charge.
Not really talking about written quotes Shanky, more like when I get a call out. Go there, fix a small problem, ask for £90 say and walk out with a cheque.
Just thinking it might be worth having a PayPal terminal in my van for these occasions.

yeah they seem like a good idea and no monthly fee either just a one off payment for the device.

2.75 % I'd rather not pay anything but I don't mind paying that and not have to make a trip to the bank. Less than £2.50 for my £90 analogy. Plus you know the money is in the bank.

Granted, but it is worth considering. It might be worth putting prices up slightly generally to compensate for those who wish to pay by card (as strictly speaking you should not add 2.75% or whatever fee to the customer for electing to pay by card).

If you've used them, what are the customer responses, when you ask them to pop their card in your machine? Suppose it would be okay with a regular customer, but other customers might not be so trusting. Whats wrong with BACS payments?

Hum... and don't forget you need a 3g or 4g signal to make these work!

Don't know what the customers response would be, I don't have one.
My regular customers do pay with bank transfer, when I have a call out and it comes to payment the first thing I ask is if they do internet banking. If not I like cash, if no again then it's a cheque at the moment, which is why I might get one. For that situation which only happens about once a month.

The landlord does not need to share it with you as for the burning smell the landlord should address this.
