Yes you do have to provide a full set of test results.

However, any 1's and 2's should ideally be rectified also but if client refuses then its a note on the cert and a letter to the client.

Main bonding is generally the favorite so i normally include that in my quotes

Do you ring them up whilst on job.

I write them on cert then explain in follow up letter although not always sure they get the drift even with it

being spelt out.

So am a little curious ?

If they are on site whilst the job is carried out then they are made aware there and then.

If they refuse to have the work done then i finish off and note probs on the cert along with a covering letter.

Like you say, there is only so far you can go in situations like this.

Must admit, i have never had any real problems doing it this way.

As long as everything is made aware of to the client before starting for then there are never any surprises for them.

Why are people saying to put it onto two radials? That doesn't make sense and particularly under the circumstances described.

If you dont know here the earth break point is, how do you make the circuit into two radials..... where would you split it? and more the question, even if you did know, why would you want to split it? surely it's easier and more cost effective to make it into one radial. It's already labelled, no changing connections along the circuit, readings are already taken and you just have the mcb to swap and a couple of details on the cert.

Hi guys. Did a C.U change yesterday and everything was fine fine except when I came to test ring main continuity on the sockets. It was fine on R1 and Rn ( 0.53) but nothing on R2. Checked all the sockets and there was no obvious loose connection and all sockets tested fine for Zs. The client did not want me to start taking floor boards up ect so I just recorded it on the installation cert. I know i should have done a test before starting but I have real difficulty with this has customers just seem to think that this is an excuse for geting more work. Just wondering if anyone else has come across this situation and what did you do ?
