I have just replaced a number of socket fronts in a property like for like - therefore non part P.

They want an insulation certificate, which I have no problem with. I am therefore giving them a miner works certificate, do I need to include the Scheduled Inspection Sheets for socket front covers as well as the test results or are they not required in this case?

I will be coming back in a weeks time to change the CU where all the tests will be done then.

I have tested each socket as I fitted them individuality, and know they are all up to standard.

Thanks in advance

Napit wants more than just a CU change - plus I have my own CU change and an additional circuit into a cupboard where my dryer is, they will be happy with that.

As Napit only wants 1 job, I would rather take them to my house instead of a customers.

This costumer is very picky as well, she already picked up that Im waiting for my assessment when she asked for my reg number - took a while to explain that front socket changes are not under Part P, and dont require a cert, but she insisted in the min of a cert.

She is the type that wont even change a plug herself, she asked me to do it - I dont care its all money - did think about sending my misses to change the plug mind - lol

Good luck with your assesment mate.

Your customer sounds like she might kick off if she doesn't get her works registered within the 28 day window mind.

Shes a little old lady, in her 70s, where she had a sparky in before who ripped her off with a rewire (didnt do the CU change mind) and went on about because he had this and that after his name he could charge a few K for the work he did.

She was not to happy when I said I would of done it for £1,100.00 - I would of even plastered the wall after for that - lol

Rewire for 1 living room, kitchen, 1 bedroom and bathroom. then she had to get a plaster in to cover all the wires because he couldn't do that because H&S apparently.

She was a little scared of me being there so I took my misses and baby with me, that settled her, think she would of rathered a female sparky - lol

She loved my baby mind

Thanks electromonkey

It sounds like you'll be a very thoughtful spark.

Good luck to you mate.

It's not just about being a good spark when it comes to going out there on your own!

I agree with you electro , must be a name thing ,wish you good luck with assesment by what i have read in your posts you will be fine

oh as for the cert thing again lol i would just do a quick minor works , me im very picky about testing and can go way over the top ,but it does help me sleep at night

Thanks all - just to let everyone know my history I worked for the St John Ambulance - contracted to the Welsh Ambulance Service as an Ambulance Technician for 6 years, I have also worked in nursing homes, care homes as well as running a training company for 3 years.

I only left the care sector because I bust my back dealing with a v heavy person having a heart attack

So caring is my life.

I would rather do a job right and get paid less than do an ok job that will do and then have to go back again and charge them again.

Talking about that
I had a builder in the flat above mine today - was saying that he charges for work to be completed knowing that it wont pass building regs, then he states thats what they wanted and then changes it and charges them again.
