Hi I have recently come accross a couple of instances where the feed to the house is via Overhead cable, but is labled up at the service head as PME. In these instances should the supply be treated as a standard TNCS system - even though the supply is fed from overhead?

Hi.

With a PME system the MEC would be coming out of the DNO cut-out and the DNO usually always label them up as so. Obviously with a TT the MEC would be disappearing off to a rod somewhere.

A sure fire way to find out if it was a TT or TN-C-S would be a Ze test.
