I think it's time for me to get a part p. I am trying to move my plumbing business in the direction of heating engineering and certified electrical installations.
whats my options regarding part p courses? Is it still a cheeky 2 day course to be a domestic installer or has that changed?
my gas is the ultimate goal but the sparks will go hand in hand with the gas

like putting in a bath and tiling

cheers for any advice

So my question is not going to be answered then? Believe I am far from stupid I no how to install a shower and the cable, mcb requirements, I also understand that the ring that you spur off has to be up to regs as does the consumer unit.
Mall I want to no is what course options are available and find one that's right for me! For example my mate that does my gas did a 2 day part p course a few years back and that was enough for him to do his thing!

I guess advice is hard to get from hear. Noted

At the end of the day, you are asking fully qualified electricians what the best course to do is.

What are you expecting the answers to be?

Most on here are either fully time served electricians, or are in there time at the moment like myself.

There are no shortcuts to be honest and there is a lot more to know than i think you appreciate.

For the same reason I am going gas safe so I can do the lot without relying on others and paying others, it costs my customers more and if I do the job start to finish it's more money for me costs customers less and far more professional in my opinion.
For the same reason I do my own tiling so I don't have to pay anyone else and it done to my standard with respect.
the job is completed by me from start to finish.
its like a sparkie plumbing in a electric shower (everyone has) you do it because you can and why pay or get someone in to do it when you legally can!
i am a plumber and love plumbing and will be a plumber but there's f all wrong with developing my skills in the trades that go hand in hand with my own and are required on a weekly basses.
Its not only common sence but good business and are we not in business to make money?
there are countless plumbers that so the same as there are sparkies that pick up a blow tourch

im still bored, so what is more dangerous a badly plumbed in shower or a showers electrical supply not designed, installed and tested correctly?

Cheers for the advice and cheers to the lads who chose to message me to avoid the debate. End of the day legal is legal!!! Time served or "short cut" there are thousands of people that don't care will just crack on and do whatever they like regardless of gas safe or 17tg edition. I am trying to find out how to get where I want but clearly not going to get and advice. believe I am far from stupid and understand what I am doing. But cheers for the advice yeah
