I have two supplies to a single immersion heater in a customers house he has them both wired into the immersion and turns them on and off accordingly.
ive told him this is not safe.
he has a separate meter for peak and off peak.
now ive searched and was wondering if there is a timer/switch that accepts two supplies and uses the economy seven to run and the peak as the boost button.?
the horsman econ7 timer seems to do everything i want apart from the two inputs??
any help on this situation would be much appreciated.

Normally peak and off peak supplies are provided to different elements within a immersion system.
The tank has a lower and an upper element, the lower element is for the economy seven and the upper element to provide a small amount of quick hot water on boost.

If the immersion heater has only one element then it is not designed for use with both economy seven and continuous supply.

The only option you would really have is to fit a 1-off-2 double pole switch that could select either one or the other supply, not really a good idea. You would need to be careful to ensure that there is no chance of crossing the supplies and inadvertently back feeding a board.

Horstman E7BX is what you are looking for. It is designed for peak and off peak supplies and can be connected either to one or two immersion heaters, just need to fit links internally.

i do not seem to ba able to connect peak and off peak to this timer.
I beleive i have seen them on new installations !! just cannot find anything.
the only option i seem to be able to find so far is a duel element.

You can take 2 supplies to these, I've fitted hundreds of them. Used to install storage heating systems all over Scotland and these were fitted on every job. Off peak supply goes to terminal 1&2, boost supply 3&4, links between 5&9 and 6&10 and immersion load is 7&8. Can also be used with 2 immersions but the wiring is slightly different.
