Morning all. I Installed an electric pizza oven late last night and found that when it gets to a certain temperature it trips the RCD. its on a 63amp/30mA RCD and a 20 amp MCB. not sure what temp it gets to but it was on for about 5 mins then tripped. Question is could it be that i need to put a 100mA trip current RCD in or is it what I thought a there is a problem with the oven / heating element ??

Rating of the oven is 3.6Kw

Don't really want to go fork out for a less sensitive RCD when it wont do the job

I tried a kettle on a different circuit that the RCD supplies and that was all ok

Instead of taking the **** and mocking, if you guys think he is a danger shouldn't you be a tad more serious... I would imagine it would send them underground and do things even worse. Give more SERIOUS and VALUABLE advise on matters which are serious.

In my view and I'm sure a lot of others... Looking at the way you guys ridicule unsuspecting victims is a form of bullying.(yes bullying, school playground bullying)
By all means say what is needed to be said regarding safety at all times.
The truth is there are far to many diyers that give electrics a go, they will read your posts and stay well clear from asking what ever dumb question they like.

Ok then Scornio, what do you call what goes on on a site?
Like I've said before, you screw up on a site and you're going to get ridiculed, we all know it and probably have all been on the receiving end of it at some point. Do you A) whine on about how unfair it is thus making yourself even more of a target or B) take it on the chin and learn from it.
The OP proposed a ridiculous solution to a problem he is obviously out of his depth dealing with. How would you have resolved this?

Warm and fluffy and understanding of people's differences doesn't always work.

No, you're wrong. And yes, I am an expert on bullying, both as a receiver, and counsellor of victims.

Lol no I'm not a social worker but after this I might become one...

Trev the whole point of a diyer being a diyer is that he has never been on a building site and wont get all the 'funny' trade jokes that go back and forward.

You guys must see my point even just a little.

we do see the point (as the dartboard said to eric bristow), but with DIYers and Electrical Trainee stealing all our work, can you blame us for being cynical?
