If the customer wants one then why not fit one and charge them. Personally how often do you need to isolate the supply from the meter to the CU, no it's just something else that can go wrong and a weak spot in the tails

so you can get to the fuse and pull it out but doesnt that mean breaking the seal to get in. please be gentle when giving your answers as im still at college learning and we were led to believe that you have to get the supplier to fit an isolator. thats qhat i think he said

Yea I also do find it amazing that when I have to pull the fuse the seal has already been removed previously.

I usually charge for a PIR first to eyeball for future probs. This is then knocked off the price as all of the testing has been done up front........

i usually charge around 350. Wylex 17th board and labour not inc bonding.

just knocked a one out for £299 incl bonding !! mind you i had about 2 meters of cable to install for gas and water combined!!

fitted a B&Q special CU!! £50 ...... NEVER AGAIN!! load of tripe!! stick to Volex or CED from now on for the low end of market! and MEM/Crabtree for other!
