PVC SWA vs XPLE SWA? | on ElectriciansForums

Discuss PVC SWA vs XPLE SWA? in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Whats the best way of telling difference in existing installation, such as filling out a cert etc? I spent a few times trying to work out if a cable is PVC or XPLE?

''XLPE'' insulation has a generally opaque appearance in it's colour, whereas ''PVC'' insulation has a more of a solid colour appearance!! Best way i can describe it anyway...lol!!
