yes there it a point at which they become concerned, anything that shows a serious failing in understanding rather than just an oversight.
In a domestic property I was asked to measure the distance between the floor and the skirt of the battenholder to confirm it was in zone 2. i was also asked to take the cover off the fan to prove it had a suitable IP rating for zone 1. My assessor was concerned that i was adding R1+R2 to Ze to Get Zs, Where as my course tutor said this was ok. So alot of the depth of the assessment will depend upon the temperement of the guy who visits.
For a flat rewire I would likely guess that you would get asked what circuits you had used, what methods of basic, fault and additional protection you have used, extraction rates if there is a fan, have you made good any fire barriers with regards to downlights, cable routes etc, your main bonding, if you used 10mm on a TN-S system you might get asked why you chose 10mm when you might have been able to use 6mm.
You will be asked to do a sample test which could be anything from RCD to ring continuity and there will be a few test questions.
