Question about earth wire - photo attached

Don't actually know but are supplied in some jointing kits. I don't reckon there is one under there it is too bulky on one side. Wouldn't mind a pic from a couple of other angles.

Used them in jointing kits and they seem ok, but that doesn't look they've scraped the crap off to make a good connection, i'd certainly investigate

Are they not a CP clip? as in "constant pressure"?
As mentioned,i think they were in part designed,to remove some of the risk/skill from a proper sweating job.

But i have seen everything from jubilee clips to a child's tool bench vice,used...

Yes basically, CV joint is actually constant (angular) velocity which is a special kind of universal joint that is basically smooth regardless of the angle or turn, used in car driveshafts

The tape is just holding the cable in place while the superglue dries.

It looks bulky enough for a spring clamp under the tape although I tend to use self amalgamating tape over the spring.
