I posted my scam day soon what should i ask him feel free to comment
this is going to be a laugh!!!!

The best question to ask is "How many sugars in your tea,he will reply something along the lines of "Do you have coffee"?

The rest of questions are rumoured to be electrically based, but the difficulty of the questions deteriorate from the initial coffee one

Maybe the scams should have sight of their members' inputs to forums like this and assess their members competence by the quality of their responses.
[ElectriciansForums.net] questions to ask the scam assessor

"but if you're here with me, who's out saving the industry?"

"Will I be OK if I'm colour blind?"

"Before we start, can you demonstrate your competence to check my work?"

"Aren't you going to do a risk assessment before you start?"

NAPIT reject people, but they ALL joined another Scheme after, just goes to show how totally irresponsible and INCompetent DCLG Buildings Division is, at setting policy.

Even the independant DCLG Commons Select committee, have stated that there is a conflict of interest, between Safety and the the Schemes commercial interests.

The way I see it, if the assessor doesn't give me a hard time then I'm not gonna give him a hard time, that would make me a p***k. He's just doing his job, he doesnt make the rules.

OOH dear ladies!

There is no point having a dig at the Assessor. He has no control over B&Q selling things, he isnt a genius, he doesnt know all the answers, british standard have got nothing to do with him, scheme provider fees are not set by or charged by him, he will not get anywhere near ÂŁ400 for his halfday visit. He is not there to pass or fail you, he wants to help and advise, he is knowledgeable about the subject he is assessing, you should also be knowledgeable about it too, or you wouldnt put yourself up for assessment.

An Assessor's job is to,

Assess that you are competent in the subject field. In this case he is assessing your ability to be able to work to a set standard as laid down by BS7671, and its implications with the building regulations. He is carrying out an Assessment of you, against a set criteria, which is the same criteria for all who are being assessed for the same purpose. The assessment should be fair, and all candidates should be assessed to the same requirements. If you are assessed as meeting the criteria, then you will be told so, and you will also be told if you do not meet the required standard.

The scheme provider assessors all hold the Qualification of Assessing competence in the workplace, and this is limited to assessing in their subject field.
You need to remember that the Assessor is an Electrical Engineer of some sort, and will have extensive subject knowledge, just like you. He wont know it all, and neither do you, but he wants to see that you can find out what you need to know.

I hold this qualification, but dont assess Part P Electricians, i deal with apprentices, but the practice and principles are exactly the same.

Cheers..........Howard
Very true, but at the same time there is no harm in asking the assessor one of the questions which gets asked time and again on here, asking for the 'official' scheme's stance on practices such as pulling DNO fuses, or if he doesn't have a definitive answer ask for his opinion, which should be formed from years of experience in the field, knowledge of regs, what electricians in the field actually do, and having a feel for the scheme's ethos.

Much the same as college lecturers - I asked my 2391 tutor a few questions which had appeared on here. More out of curiosity than anything else. Presumably because they weren't directly regs related some of the answers he gave were a bit of a cop-out, which is where it would be interesting to ask the scheme assessor his views on a few different things.
