i usually fit a FCU top of the wall cupboard and chase in to inside the flue. then a connector or wagos to the flex.
 
they not has bad putting them up most manufactures comes with a wall plan .

No I agree Buzz not that bad really but I had one where there was a low ceiling and to get the minimum height from the hob just one of the 2 chimney sections was too long, so that had to be cut down with a jigsaw with metal blade, then it had to be jiggled into place with the main hood loose as no adjustment and this particular one was about 1200mm wide.
