Rats!Rats!Rats!

Hi all, I'm going to be having a look at a house which has problems with rats eating cables. The guy who has contacted me seems to think the damage is pretty extensive from several years of vermin abuse. So I'm estimating it'll probably want a rewire. So......

Is there any other way of rat-proofing cabling other than galv conduit? Anyone got any quicker/easier/cheaper ideas? Maybe trunk in loft spaces and between floors?

Anyway, any ideas appreciated....

this should do the trick!

I did consider pyro, I'd love to do it all in pyro but I'm not sure the soft copper will stand up to the little blighters, and of course it'll cost a fortune.

Rocker , you asked if swa would stand up and i have to say yes i have seen 30 - 40 ft foot lengths stripped back to the swa on some jobs by rats up in the roof spaces of grain stores if the last installer had not thought about his run very well !
But i still think solid containment is the best route , there is no chance of them getting through it.
We only used flex copex because it was impossible to use galv tube .

No seriously Nick , i did forget to mention i am a farmers son and it was in the cow barns and not a house .
Don't get me wrong i am not one for shooting things for the hell of it but vermin control is another thing !
