rogue electricians claiming to be part of a scheme!!!! how can we stop them !!

just been looking through my local paper and found 2x electricians claiming to be napit and niceic domestic installer.

its in the enfield advertiser and hendon press...


is there anything we can do to stop these theives!!

How do you know they're not registered with a scheme?

Well if they are making false claims maybe report it to the relevant scheme.
Can't see we, as individuals, can do much more.

People who make false claims like that need to be stopped.

Report them to your local Trading Standards.

Check out your local Trading Standards office, on line and see if they offer on line reporting.

I know NICEIC have established a new contractors wall of shame which at present has 24 contractors listed on this. Last ones got fined £2500 plus £1500 costs and £8630 plus £1100 costs for fradulently claiming to be NICEIC registered and using logos eg yell.com

You may like to let the newspaper displaying the advert know too and report them to the Advertising Standards Authority - after all, when you advertise the fact that you're a member of a scheme the ad has to be truthful.

Newspapers take the advert in good faith, but if it’s pointed out to them they are carrying a fraudulent advert they are obliged to stop it. They have a get out in the small print, in that they carry adverts in “good faith and can’t be held responsible for inaccuracies".
