Big n Daft

Right ho chaps and chapesses,
Its time rat out the rubbish. What have you used recently that has been complete and utter poo.
Lets start with anything that has Proteus on the label, and there is some completely useless swa cable out there as well. You know the stuff, its like a coiled spring sitting on the drum waiting to snare you at first pull.

I think perhaps it may have been easier to list products that are worth fitting lol

Cheap surface mounts installation boxes that shatter or the openings are too small to get cables through - 10mm T&E that you have to wrestle with courtesy of Senates - cheap metal installations boxes that refuse the screw and as mentioned the knockouts do not knockout.

In defence of British General, I would have refused to fit when a customer supplied their own. If it wasn't for comments Tel had written on the forum it would still be in the box. I was pleasantly surprised and have since supplied and fitted one myself, end product in my opinion looks very neat and tidy and is very sturdy, excellent value for money in my opinion:thumbsup

I love the play on words...
British - Stout, trustworthy, solid
General - Senior military rank meaning stout, trustworthy and solid. Also reminds electricians of "General Electric", an old stout, trustworthy, solid brand.

Capping nails. Whoever came up with that idea should be taken outside and shot.
They're a poor 'solution' to a problem which had already been solved better with clout nails.
yes and when your tryin to hit em in.....they fly off in all directions like bullets....they should either sort em or ban em.....their dangerous....

Tamlite..... parts are cheap chinese imports and fitted 100 x 8ft twin fittings yrs ago and within 4 yrs the endcaps broke on 90% raining tubes down onto machinery and staff at random times, the reflectors they supplied didn't fit as fixing holes 1mm out i got rep back even after 4yrs and started legal proceedings... 1979 customer rights act, and used the endcap BS standards to attack from another angle..... he explained all parts were sourced externally and he will look into it.... never heard anything so contacted trading standards and by a miracle they contacted me and the issue was resolved to my satisfaction. Never touched their stuff again.
Can't believe even their own rep' said the stuff was crap with all the evidence i showed him he really didn't have an angle of attack though.

Also centaur plastic conduit parts, lid screws are tapped into plastic and alot dont hold... box of 100 saddles and 25 were returned.
