Severely Cracked Hands!:-(

Anyone got any advice re preventing cracked hands (other than man up or wear gloves!) I have been trying OKeefes Cream but this morning they are so bad I can hardly hold a cup!?

Will you please sort these out for me lol. It just would not post and went on to grey screen , then when I reloaded it has had a dicky fit.

I use the okeefes cream and find its good as it soaks in and dries quick , but I’m guilty of not using it all the time, as it’s really more of a preventative measure than a cure, and should be applied a few times throughout the day.
Atrixo is good but takes a while to dry.
I remember one instance my hands were bad, when I got home I slavered them in atrixo and then put some rubber gloves on to keep them moist.
When the skin splits it’s sore...

This is starting to heal now, but when they really sore I put some salvon on it and a plaster to keep it moist.
My dad suffers from dry hands too, his ritual is before work cover his hands in Vaseline then dry them over the gas ring on the cooker!

Lol. Must be the weather , I use 3 wireless it has been a problem for a few days now. It just stops working.

I have problems with those . I have not found any that I can work with for any length of time.

I use Diprobase cream, get from chemist, the wife a Nurse in Cancer care Recommends it to a lot of her Patients since using it I have not suffered from cracked hands

might be OK for you southern softiesbut up here in the frozen north where men are men, we use Hypoy 90 gearbox oil.

Being so hard and tough I would have thought you Northern blokes wouldn't hand cream, just suck up the pain and wait for the weather to get warmer

It's kind of reassuring that the dry hands condition is more common than I realised , had problems with this every winter for as long as I can remember, Neutrogena [red-unscented] works well but I'm guilty of not using it regularly enough too.

I feel your pain,I myself suffer with this at the time of year.Working with copper cable is just splits and cracks the skin, and opens back up again like a Victoria plumb.Try wearing tight fitting cut gloves.
