So I've been doing some work in a building and the fuseboard is located in a room which has been converted to a "multifaith room". It's basically a prayer room for Muslims as it's been kitted out with the facility to wash their feet and also a hand dryer mounted low level to then their dry feet.

I couldn't help but notice the proximity of the water outlet to the hand dryer and also the distribution boards.

Any thoughts?

Forget the regs it's lethal. The distances in the regs are for a fixed shower head not one you could wash the whole room down with. I would give it a C1

Not sure what reg I would quote, I am thinking with my NICEIC hat on, just cover your arse. The regs can be interpreted in lots of ways but sometimes common sense has to prevail. The 17th edition stated that equipment must be suitable for the location, that's why you can't have a light switch for example. Outside the zones was still required to be IPX4. Best I can do from the 18th 701.512.2 footnote. Equipment exposed to water jets minimum degree of protection IPX5 they use the example of "for cleaning" my example "spraying water round like an idiot".
