That's more like it , not criticising in any way but although I've bunched wiring with small cable ties for neatness before I wonder if it can have an adverse effect on dissipating any heat build up when the circuits are 'busy' ?

Although this isn't an RCBO board, here's an example of one of my boards done a couple of years back, this isn't perfect and I knocked one of the lives out of straight before taking the picture but the job took an hour and a half start to finish [apart from testing], someone got let down by their usual sparks and the place was being let two days later so I ended up doing this at 8pm on a Friday night !

And that's a cracking job!

I remember being quite happy with this at the time until the senior electrician copped eyes on it and gave me a dressing down for bunching the line conductors. He cut all the ties off and made it look a right mess. Never forgot that lesson in function over form though.

Iv got 14 single phase 20way boards to fit all with rcbos, Iv done 4 already and want to know if anyone has a better way to terminate the conductors to make it look tidyer.

Bit of a pigs ear, mate to be honest SWA not terminated properly all those rcbo earth tail taped up and crammed into the same terminal? oh dear why not put some earth sleeving on them that will make them easier to dress neatly. Don't mean to be nasty but as you are a trainee, best to be told early on in your career where I think you are going wrong.

Wasn't there a thread a bit ago about putting tie wraps in consumer units. I remember quite a few people whinging about that it shouldn't be done due to its a pain when testing.

Take the comments in this thread on board and learn from them mate.

Here's my two pennies - it looks like that was put together with no prior planning whatsoever - it always pays to think out a job before doing it and always keep your work area tidy.

Wiring a board step by step with no prior planning will always end up looking like your picture unless you've done hundreds to an acceptable standard.

Sort that out before handing it over to your customer because as it stands it's not acceptable.

Good luck!

I can't see the pic. My wonderful work comp has blocked the site....
