spot light price

Hi all,

Advice please!!!

I have been given a quote to install 19 spot lights in four different rooms. 2x6 1x5 and 1x2. at present i have single rose lights in each room. There is easy loft access as it is a top floor flat in a block of six. The electrician has quoted @ £500-600 plus lights cable etc on top. And said it will take him about four days poss five

Is this a reasonable cost and time frame???

Any advice greatly appreciated.

well my boss would typically charge ...about £35-40 per point..thats here in leeds of course.....now then,...early on last year we were down in romford on a rewire of a 4 bed house on 2 lifts......£50 per point and the client was happy with that........

Ah Romford, ....One of my old stomping grounds!! lol!! Used to be a lot of good night clubs in and around Romford, and a dammed good market there twice a week!!

i always find its the marking out that is a bitch, as i like to split the room/distances btewwn lights etc equally
and you can gaurantee that after an hour of measuring and pinging lines the first one you drill is under a joist and the whole lot needs working out again

we had this a while back jason.....turned out the joists (which should follow front to back or side to side did.....for about half way across the ceiling....then went the other way....they had used speedy hangers to alter the direction if the joists from say...north/south....to east/west for no reason at all....took us an age to plan where to drill out for the cans.....lol for christs sake....bad joinery was that.....
