Reading another thread got me thinking about the terminology we use such as making off, glanding off etc. but how many of the younger sparks know what "belling out" means?
 
In my previous life as a die technician (ok, corrector) we used rotary burrs to grind chunks out of the dies.

Tis officially known as fettling, but fettling brings to mind a welly wearing solo experience in a field full of sheep to me!
Nah that's not fettling, in the only good place in the UK fettling something is to put paid to it or settle a score. As in "That fettled him the bugger"

Aye, ah knaa, bit of a fifth column, like. Y' can get the dog doon here nee botha tho but! Wuz allus a Fed Speshul man me'sen like. Broons' alreet but Amber wuz the best 'un. Yez can get some canny ales doon here, so them's larnin summat reet! Sleep tight hinny, off te help wor lass flatten the mattress!!!
