Hi there

Testing at origin of a domestic property, I have found:

L-N: 0.44 Ohms
L-E: 9.89 Ohms

I had the DNO attend clients address, there response was that it was quite high and confirmed readings of 0.44 for ZE. (Pleasee attached document with their response)

My concern is they don't seem to have checked the reading between L-E......

Anyone know what could be the cause of this? MET connections are tight and in good condition....

Many thanks in advance.

Adam

The only cable I've installed is the 16mm T&E, everything else is existing...
To me that is very worrying that you are carrying out electrical works on other people's properties.

There has been two previous electricians as well who have not picked this up.

I'll be upgrading to a switch fuse as advised, but sparkychic what's the deal with existing then surely it all needs upgrading to switched fuses regardless of it being existing....

Westward I'm learning everyday.

So going forward such as today, I'm running 6mm swa from meter intake to outside garage.

I'll run the swa into a metal consumer unit in the garage.

At the meter I will upgrade to a double pole Henley block and have the swa on a 60amp switch fuse for protection of the 15m run.

I'll update the tails from the Henley block to existing fuseboard which is just next to the meter.

As previously stated, using an MCB can lead to discrimination issues under fault conditions.
Many thanks once again.

I understand on this clearly now.

I can take tails from the meter into my 100amp switches fuse which I'll install to the right of the meter at high level in the meter cupboard.

From the sf isolator I'll run tails to the Henley block which supply's the three feeds.

Also I'll use containment to protect and neaten the cables inside the meter cupboard
