To do 2391 or not

J

jassyo06

Hi i am seriously contemplating doing the 2391 inspection and testing course i have just finished doing the 2330 course have got a distinction in both 302 and 303 written exams and a final distinction-distinction for level 3 which has given me a boost in the confidence department to take on the 2391 exam,i have been in the trade for a few decades so i am not some guy jumping on to a different carreer;).

My thoughts are since all of this is still fresh in my head ie the 2330 course work i thinking give a go and get it all done:d
what i want to know is surely 2391 cant be more difficult than the level 3 exams and also what benefits does 2391 give you,the exam is in june the 8th so i have almost 3 months of study to get things going.

My feelings are that just having 2330 is not enough in this job market and surely having 2391 would more desirable to employers and it would also increase your earning potential which is the most important thing to me as i have been unemployed for the last 8 months and still have no signs of a job.opinions please

i aint working unemployed at the moment mate i have the £200 ila as well aint used it yet. also i have to find the money for ecs card aswell which is £173 fast tracked
have you done the 17th update yet and if so how was it

when i cast my mind back to when i signed up for the 2330 course i can remember when the level 2 and level 3 course work binders where delivered to my home i looked unintentionally may i add at the level 3 course work and i got real shudder of fear:eek::eek::eek: as i am 47:p and i had not been to school for 30 years,so what i say is if i can do 2330 i can do 2391 :cool::cool:

i done the 17th edition as my trade test mate only been time served a few years so no need for the update, but know a few guys who done the 17th update they said it was a breeze, seems that lack of experience is holding me back with any job i go for so thinking the 2391 might just give me that extra advantage on those with more experience, although wouldve thought being time served wouldve made me just as qaulified as the rest just the way things are just now i suppose

Do you mean its a NEW course for them?
I would pop along and have a word with the students and the tutor before parting with any money.

its not a new course for them its just there new course
prospectus doesnt come out until april as its not on there site just yet and yes that is a great idea giving them a visit the last time i was at that college was 30 years ago as an apprentice.

its not a new course, just thy only have it on there prospectus for january start then its removed till it starts again in august, the new college has been open for a few years now and the 2391 course is ment to be really good with some great help from the tutors according to a friend, if its the same lecturers i had only 5 years ago then they really are good

i have the same problem mate central scotland has a huge amount of unemployed construction workers as it has the largest amount of construction worker per head of the population in scotland, get yourself signed up with the agency's optionsnorth employment is 1 them i was offered a job up at coltness high school last week but had to refuse it because i aint got a ecs card yet,i am in the proccess of jumping through hoops for a grading card with the sjib,i have got a letter saying i undergone a apprenticeship with hamilton district council and i have 2 letter headed references from previous employers stating that i have worked as a competent electrician for so many years in there employ i am just waiting for the 17th edition exam cert then sending them all away including copies of all my certificate parts 1of 2361
levels 2 and 3 of 2330 and the 17th edition certificate just to appease the sjib for frickin grading card it really is like talking to a brick wall when communicating with them

i staye down the road from coltness high school that was my old school less than a 5 minutes walk, any chance you could give me the number of that optionsnorth mate? had the same problem when i passed my trade test mate sent away all certificates to be told by SJIB they hadn never recieved them and apperently must have went missing in the post, then out of the blue they appeared 2 months later really dont think they know what there doing, if you get that sorted mate they are also buildind a new primary school in coltness the steel works just getting done the now and the same contractor has it so possibilty of an opffer of more work through optionsnorth if your cards etc are sorted out
