I was using a box but got sick of constantly having to rearrange the contents to close the lid. So now using an open tote bag that is big enough to take a couple of plastic organiser boxes for all the bits and bobs, as well as my clamp meter and voltage proving unit as well as a few other things i carried seperately before. Working quite well so far :)

Was using a roll along box, but was sick if the tote tray getting in the way so done a mod by chopping the edges of the tote tray to house the lid and threw the tote tray in bin. Now I have a separate ck tote with a similar arrangement and the box has my power tools and whatever else I need at the time.

I have several boxes and bags all have redeeming features but all get filled with wire clippings, crimps and cut off plugs eventually. I have one for networks, one for POTS, one for electronics one for mains, and several bags which have ended up a combination of all. I think box (case style) generally wins for me, can usually tidy it up in half an hour..

use a box myself stanley chest sort of thing with pull down drawers on front cost me about 20 quid from b&q also doubles up as a great seat! time for a replacement soon as they dont take much abuse and bits have broke off it!

That is the one big problem i have found in switching to a bag. My back and knees sometimes take a real pounding - think i will start taking a little picnic chair along with me

Fatmax tote over the shoulder, usually accompanied with a drill box in both hands.
Great when you cant park right next to the job (i.e. central london, takes me a good 10 mins to walk to underground car park)

I 'aquired' a royal mail bag that will accomodate my stanley box which I use for this. Really nice padded strap makes it a doddle walking up the high street.

yes I second that, the shoulder strap on a tote makes a huge difference.

Had mine last week and now with a pull along box I can take nearly all I need from van in one hit.
Except my pencil mind you I've always got to go back for that no matter how many I put in box they all end up in my dash or ????.

I use a Stanley tool box for tools, which also serves as a seat, hopup and sawing bench.
Multi compartment organisers for fixings, crimps etc.

I got a stanley fatmax toolbag, they come in a few sizes and are very rugged, loads of compartments, range from £20-40,use a large toolbox for other bits/stepup/workbench,and you can also get a 24 section screwbox(empty) with transparent cover(mine cost about £6).but the bag is a good one with shoulder strap, easy for walking down the street.

Where did you get that for £6 that very cheap? any link?
or did you mean £26

Bought THESE 3 all for £15 in the shop (think they are still £15 and just £20 on the net). Been pleased with them as they have double catches and just the 2 smaller ones are carrying my little bits and fitting in my bag. :)
