Hi to all,
I need a little advice for whats required when transferring circuits from old wylex fuseboard to new CCU. They are both already existing so i am not installing a new CCU, I am qualified but not set up self employed yet and not yet registered with a governing body. The job is for my brother he had the kitchen extended into the garage 2 yrs ago. The new half has sockets and lights wired back to the 2 year old 12 way 6 protected 6 not protected ccu fitted by a so called electrician! The rest of the house is on the old 4 way wylex fuseboard, The guy who did it wired 10mm for gas bond but left the water on a 6mm which has been burning or had a fault at sometime as the insulation is burnt, cracked and missing in parts over the few metres that i can see not good. The wiring he has done is rough to say the least coming to ccu from all over the shop, he as also not sealed ccu where he has made knockouts and cables not clipped or in trunking there are holes not sealed in walls and a full brick missing where shower cable is coming from inside of cavity. tails from main cut out fuse (NO SEALS he cut them) and meter are 16mm with no outer sleeving then connected to henley block he installed and 25mm to new ccu and 16mm to old wylex. what i am asking is to do this job for my brother should
1. do a full pir on whole house ( test r1and r2 of existing lights with L&N crossed and test between this and earth as there is selv lighting and cant get to tansformers )
2. have to notify labc and pay there rip off prices
3. inform supply authority to fit main switch isolator or pull fuse( or is it ok for me to take fuse out)
4. upgrade water bond to 10mm as its a pme system
5. remove old meter tails and cut out tails to meter or should i get dno to do the tails
6. Install sleeving to unmarked sw/lives as old colours and should it be red sleeving
7. fit RCBOs to the unprotected side of ccu
8. remove old wylex fuseboard and henley block
9. transfer all old circuits to new ccu
10. test all circuits all tests
11. seal all knockouts and holes through wall and trunking for cables for building regs e.g. fire safety
12. fill in E.I.C for all inspected and tested circuits sign off
13. inform building control again of completion

Does this sound about right or if i missed anything would be grateful for your advice as i am going to use this as my main job for assesment when i register either with NIC or elecsa thinking elecsa any help gratefully appreciated sorry its a long post cheers
