Hi

Just looking for some advice. I've had a new supply and meter fitted on the outside of a building. The supply is for a new consumer on the first floor. The meter tails for this have been run down the outer wall. What trunking would you use to protect these?

Many thanks

Think we used 2" x 2" galvanised for the boards incoming supply because they specified that. The electrician suggested some kind of metal cable guard for the tails but I have doubts.

I can take a photo but not for a day or two.

Whilst 6181y cable attached (has it been clipped?) to the side of a house above head height, and assuming it is 6181y cable, it's not the sort of cable suitable for outside IMO (UV damage etc). Think swa cable would have been more suitable. Have you asked your 'electrician', why he/she is recommending protection for the cables, but not actually installing it?

DNO supplies are of a different concern and specification, surprised they asked for galvanised trunking?

I think the idea behind the cable is once it is in trunking it's protected. He will be fitting the trunking/guard but will do that when he comes back to connect up etc.
