I have just replaced a broken Cooker switch, no problem there until runing the tests,

I am a bit unsure if it is a TT system or not, Recently qualified, but now in the real world.

My gut feeling says a TT, as the consumer unit is on the upstairs landing, and signs of where the origional metre would have been.
the metre is now out side in a nice white box and is digital.

I'm not sure how to attach photos.

in the meter cupboard outside it looks like a 'Y' cable with a round lump in the middle of the 'Y'
this comes up from the ground into the service fuse unit, also same going to another unit!!from the same area of the ground, this is 'Y' shaped as well.
from the upper unit it goes to SWA to the loft via outside of the house, to the consumer unit.
just before the consumer unit it turns to the 'Y' configuration and becomes Live and Neutral Tails.

No sign of a 100A,10mmA RCD, also no sign of an Earth from the Consumer unit,
there is a black cable (maybe 4mm) from the Earth bar that goes into the loft and disappears into the building structure.

Consumer unit was replace 2 years ago, by someone !! no paperwork,
split board,
100A mains switch, 2 light circuiton this side, the rest on a 30mA RCD.

No main bonding to services either.

Can any one enlighten me??

Thanks in advance

It does sound like TT, have you got a loop tester? There are loads around me that were TT from underground cables, earthed to a water pipe in the attic. Quite regularly find properties with no earth where someone's re-plumbed them and disconnected the old lead pipes.

Here are the pictures of the Meter cupbard out side, not the best pics

Yes does appear to be a TT system my advice would be to install an electrode and a 100A 100mA RCD.
Also main bonding to gas / water services.
