Hi, has anyone noticed Joe public can buy twin & earth at Screwfix for nearly the same price a skilled part p approved experienced Sparky can at the merchants he been using for 20 years. Doesn't seem right to me.

i had some of the same stuff myself, was pulling my hair out as all ready in place!Ive had some cable from the cheaper supplier mentioned in previous posts and the cable wouldn't strip from the insulation as it was stuck together. It's unbranded cable that I wouldn't use again. Screwfix/Electricfix use Prsymian branded cable which is decent to use.
the one i think it was is a thingy that goes in candles,am i right ?
I think the point is that different customers get different prices - you might expect a sparky who goes into a wholesaler almost every day and spends a fortune on their account to get a better price than a DIYer who might spend half an hour in there asking them how to fit their new light/shower, then return it the next week because it wasn't quite what they wanted.
Slightly off topic but I bought some T&E clips from toolstation, ok until you try to knock them into anything harder than timber. Tower clips every time for me!
whats `part p approved` got to do with `skilled`?.....now in many cases it will......but on the other hand.....lol....Hi, has anyone noticed Joe public can buy twin & earth at Screwfix for nearly the same price a skilled part p approved experienced Sparky can at the merchants he been using for 20 years.
