vauxhall astra h problem after installing reverse camera

although I have had the glove box out before and never recall seeing one there ? could this be the j model instead of my h model ?

LHD or RHD as it could be located under the kick panel under the steering wheel.

so checked the passenger and drivers footwell areas for fuses and there isn't any there. but wiring loom does seem to chase down left hand side plastic side cover going underneath the door I wonder if there is something behind that ?

so have stripped out glove box and steering column covers exposing both sides of footwells and have disconnected and removed the android stereo. turn on ignition and still no display on head unit or any of the other controls lost like boot loading aid

right have removed steering column cover and footwell cover both passenger and drivers sides and removed glove box and can see no fuses in those areas. but the wring loom from the stereo does run down the left side of the passengers foot behind the cover that runs under the door. could there be fuses behind there ?

just disconnected battery for an hour whilst the stereo is disconnected to see if stereo was stopping it from resetting but doubt that will work

well new development now. after plugging in to the odb2 port with opcom I cant connect with the ecu or the cim modules. does this shed any more light ?

I presume they connect through the can bus and that's where my problem lies. where is the can bus actually located and what does it look like ?

Not sure if youve fixed this yet but it definitly sounds like you have a problem with the CAN bus. I dont have the wiring diagram for your car but its normally one pair of wires (CAN hi and CAN low) that runs between all modules. Either this is broken somewhere or its shorted together or to ground. One of the xomputer could also be pulling it down.

With the battery disconnected you should get about 50ohms between the two can lines.

still not fixed but seen people take the fuse box out from under bonnet and the pins underneath rust where it connects to the euc so going to check that

it did register these faults prior to failure even though they are not currently present
