Water and gas Bonding on three-Phase

Hi All, Doing a big remedial job on a factory and changing main incoming tails to 240mm. On inspection found there was no bonding to water and gas. Surely that doesnt mean i need 60mm bonds? also does the clamps HAVE to be bonded next to the incoming water and gas meters or is there a 'get out clause' where you dont have to do it?? If so this could end up being a 60metre run :saddam:

yes you have to bond Gas and Water.

Are these remedial works following a PIR ? If so what does the report say about the earthing arrangements ?
If not , who designed the tails upgrade ?
Discuss your findings with the client before continuing with the job.
And yes , gas / water have to be bonded at entry to the factory.

I believe you can stop at 25mm2 if it is TNS.
If may be worth finding out if there is a suitable conductor already running near the water/gas that may be used as a bonding conductor and reduce the length of the run required.

You are of course correct with the TNS but in all my years I've never come across a TNS bigger than 160A.

You haven't worked on any industrial or decent sized commercial projects then!! lol!! Or any project that is MV supplied to an on site distribution TX!! 2500A to 3500A TN-S Switchboards are not uncommon at all!!

would it be permissible to bond structural steel work at the MET and then bond gas and water to the steel close to point of entry? (assuming that a compliant resistance reading is obtained)
