Have went to see a job for a friend of a friend who had polish workman in and done all sorts.
I have seen on alot of the existing sockets they have fed 2-3 spurs from them. I advised them that this is not allowed but as floors wall ect are all finished it would be hard to run cables. Could the fuse be lowered from 32amp to 20amp? Zs is not too high, rcd fitted.
cheers

Not sure. It would makes sense from a practical point of view, but can't find it in black and white and I can't see how it will effect the loading on the terminals which will still be protected to 32a?

Interested to find out though.

what would you note on a report what code would you give it. Because its not a spur off a spur the cable should not get overloaded, but somewhere it says one spur from each outlet, is there a reg on this?

ok its rough as a badgersd we are agreed on that

if you can Id fit a F.C.U. beside existing socket and take the mess from load side of FCU not a "proper job " but better and safer than pigs ear that sausage rolls left
As for finished walls they will need refinishing if it catches fire Explain to him Why its wrong and the possibilities to make it safer and get him to SIGN for work being carried out in your cert Put that this was work done previously and not by your self and make sure you have EXACTL:Y what you have done as they may have other things unsen as yet

When training I was taught, we can add as many unfused spurs as there are existing socket outlets on the RFC but, only one from each point be it JB, CU or existing socket.

RFC theory tells us that spurring 4 or 5 outlets from one socket is asking for trouble as the shortest leg of the RFC feeding that socket outlet with the 4 or 5 spurs connected to it, will have it's (Iz) exceeded at some point as the loading will be significantly higher at that point.

That was a common method of wiring small 2 up and 2 down terraced houses!! ...lol!!
They spurred off the ground floor sockets straight up to supply a bedroom socket, where required. Iv'e even seen some rings, where every socket was spurred off the main ring via JB's...lol!! Both perfectly compliant, both then and now, but not perhaps the best methods of wiring a RFC !! ...lol!!
