Hi everyone,

I need to change two CU, and one of those I will gonna use to my assessment. In both flat are only 4 circuit, but the thing is: I've got already 3 consumer unit, 1 Clipsal CU 6 way with 2 split 3 x way (100A main switch and 80A 30mA RCD) and 2 more Clipsal CU 6 way with 63A RCD as Main Switch. I would like to know, wich is the best way to use this this CU to my assessment? So, Can I use 63 A RCD as a MAIN SWITCH or do I have to buy RCBO's to fit with this main RCD? I don't know, but maybe i can buy 3 RCBO's and fit on 2split CU and one circuit i can put on MCB portected by RCD.

Thanks a lot

personally, if you're going to use these boards, i would fit them out with main switch ( non-RCD ) and RCBOs.otherwise, you've got to have main switch , 2 RCDs, and 4 MCBs. don't think you've got the space available if i read your post correct.

Thanks for your help Telectrix,

The problem is: To get 4 RCBO's is more expensive than Dual RCD CU 10 way, isn't it? Do you know wich one is better for the assessment?

personal preference. RCBOs give the client the peace of mind that if one trips through a fault, he loses his kettle, but not the computer.

what i meant, neto, is that if his kitchen circuit RCBO tripped, his lounge ( or other) circuit would still be healthy, so he would have to drink beer when on his pc, not tea.

Thanks for everything guys! Now i know what's teletrix said. I'm not professional, but we can use one kettle on the same circuit (Ring socket) of the computer, isn't it?
Anyway! Thanks a lot for everyone.
