I think you've put the decimal point in the wrong place for America. I'm sure ours is about 1.6 trillion.
Hi- Andy, yes apologies I meant 16 Trillion, thanks for correcting me, the biggest point here is why the decimal point slipped into the post lol.

I disagree, with our economy it will get back into the black eventually, it will take time, just to let you know, America is 1.6 trillion over drawn, so we are not alone being in debt.

yup the economy will get back in the black - BUT with ÂŁ1.5 trillion, and say ÂŁ50 bilion repayment, it will take 30 years!

Another fine success for the EU - they allow a 3% deficit per year - even in the good times - which is madness.

Not sure our deficit is anything to do with the EU Murdoch.

It would be much easier to have an informed opinion if the people giving us the information to form the opinion with told something resembling the truth.

The current crop of politicians may have different agendas but they are all behaving in the same way.

Petty point scoring, making promises they won't keep and telling half truths.

Most importantly treating us all like we are too effing stupid to cope with the truth.

The NHS needs shaken up badly. It's crap value for money and so bogged down in bureaucracy nothing can change.

I like the NHS and think it is one of the things that makes our country great.

It really does need radical change though.

Why doesn't it happen?

Because politicians are too frightened to make tough decisions.

They know the opposition will use it to score cheap points and the sensationalist British gutter press will have a field day.

Not that I'm disillusioned with Brithish politics.

AND you have to listen to the constant drivel coming out of Nicola Sturgeons mouth every day!

I get Nicola Stugeon and you get Nigel Farage.

They are all playing the same silly games.

Now thats not a nice thought....

Ah well, come 2016 and Sturgeon says you'll have another referendum - which I think is distinctly odd seeing as the oil tax revenue has dropped so much, along with exports of Whisky - does she need new batteries in her calculator OR has she borrowed one from Ed Balls?

I objected to the Scottish parliment in the first place as it was just another layer of petty point scoring lying barstewards.

I would much rather the money was spent elsewhere.

A perfect example of YOU not being able to see the wood for the tree's....You see and believe what suits your beliefs and skim over the bigger overall picture!! Oh and i'm the last one here that believes everything that's been put in print, in fact the very opposite is generally the case. ''Living with it'' as you put it, is the reason why you have a distorted view, (think about it) you have a far better overall perspective on the why's and how's when on the outside looking in... Oh and as i have stated many times here i'm no die hard for any UK political party, they all have their faults and assets. It's a shame that none ever seem to put the country first, instead it's the party and their friends that tend to be the first priority!!

I always find it highly amusing reading of the die hard Tory supporters that have nothing to conserve but somehow believe they have to support them, and come out with the most bizarre rhetoric and blaming just about everyone and their dog in order to substantiate their ill founded stands!!

You, now, are having a laugh. I have an interest in Spain and keep abreast of Spanish issues that could affect me. Now for me to think that I have some mysterious "better" idea of what is going on in Spain, than, say, a local business man in Barcelona (maybe even an electrician) is naĂŻve at best.

you may not support a party, you don't need to, but you are a one dimensional socialist trying to sound cleverer than you are (on this subject) .lol

Changed that for you

Politics aside the point about being able to be objective when you are on the outside looking in is a valid one.

It's a similar principle to arbitration.

A third party not emotionally involved can be objective and see what the emotionally involved parties cannot see.

Then you would be wrong, You probably have a much better idea what's going on in Spain and why, than your example of a Spanish electrician!! He isn't being given actual reasons, he just has to deal with the situation he finds himself in and probably blaming the government presently in office for all his woes...

I'm neither a Socialist nor Conservative, and if i'm anything i'm omni dimensional, but i keep abreast of many things that are going on in the UK. There's an old saying about the cultivation mushrooms, heed it!! lol!!
