I do my reseach, and i don't have or need a selective memory either, (i support neithr the Tory or Labour parties) that's generally the domain of the Tory die hards that have somehow been brainwashed into thinking they are on the side of the typical working man. Plus i'm on the outside looking in so i get a much better perspective of what's actually going on... Going by your post 194 you need to do a good deal more on research...

A post very stereotypical of a real die hard Labourite who has been conned by Labours ideology of being for the working man and everyone who signs on the rock and roll or decides that working the benefits system is their best line of work. Unlike you I'm under no illusion that any of the parties are on the side of the working man and your reseach has obviously brainwashed you by not allowing you to see the wood for trees with all of these parties. I don't see how being on the outside thousands of miles away from the UK gives you any better perspective of what is going on than actually living with it. Don't believe all you read in your reseach as out on the sharpend getting involved is far better research of how government and local government policy is enacted or not as it's failures are usually called a change of policy and any waste of resources hidden

So who do Labour represent if not the working class? If not Labour, who do you really think stands up for the under privileged & vulnerable in our society?

does this provide the answewr?

No surprise to see this ignored by the Labour clowns. Their narrow mindedness is nearly as bad as ---- and uaf (who don't understand that they're the fascists, but that's another story).

Obviously the debt went up, but it was always going to considering that Labour were borrowing ÂŁ150billion a year, this is now down to something in the region of ÂŁ90billion a year, still far too much, but a lot better than it was 5 years ago. There was never any mention of eliminating debt, merely deficit. Debt will always be there, we've only just (in the last year) paid off our First World War debt!

Thing is, and this is common with all politicians, Labour haven't stopped going on for 5 years that the coalition have been cutting too hard and too fast; now they're saying that they haven't been cutting enough.

A perfect example of YOU not being able to see the wood for the tree's....You see and believe what suits your beliefs and skim over the bigger overall picture!! Oh and i'm the last one here that believes everything that's been put in print, in fact the very opposite is generally the case. ''Living with it'' as you put it, is the reason why you have a distorted view, (think about it) you have a far better overall perspective on the why's and how's when on the outside looking in... Oh and as i have stated many times here i'm no die hard for any UK political party, they all have their faults and assets. It's a shame that none ever seem to put the country first, instead it's the party and their friends that tend to be the first priority!!

I always find it highly amusing reading of the die hard Tory supporters that have nothing to conserve but somehow believe they have to support them, and come out with the most bizarre rhetoric and blaming just about everyone and their dog in order to substantiate their ill founded stands!!

Why would they ignore this?
Pre the 2007/8 crash the two highest peaks on your graph for borrowing are the result of a Tory government & the two lowest peaks for surpless are during a Labour government.

That graph was posted by telectrix in response to trevs comment that debt had increased. As I said before, it was going to increase regardless, unless there was no borrowing whatsoever, which there was never going to be.

And nearly ALL the years, irrespective of who was in power have been a deficit - which is more than the route of the problem.

Never mind balancing the budget, god knows how long it would take to pay off!

My view also Murdoch, I think I've said before on here, I don't think any party has much efect on the economy other than the odd tweak.

I think the budget will be balanced sometimes but I also think we will always have debt. It will never be paid off.

I disagree, with our economy it will get back into the black eventually, it will take time, just to let you know, America is 1.6 trillion over drawn, so we are not alone being in debt.

I think you've put the decimal point in the wrong place for America. I'm sure ours is about 1.6 trillion.
