......just stop doing bloody certs. Following on from the current certs thread I'm sick to death of filling in reams and reams of poxy tick boxes and irrelevant information that no fecker apart from honest law abiding electricians ever look at. Eighty per cent of those in circulation are jackanory anyway.....at least those I come across are. If we all said f'kit we are doing them no more the world will keep on turning just the same.

I'm off to fill in a CU change EIC. I might make it up. I know I wont though. But then again...

So behind the times.
Face time the customer, and get them to walk round the house.
Then Email the cert.
Don't even have to leave the house to buy printer ink.

My cert software auto populates alot of the stuff. On the last inspection from my blessed scam i was pulled up as i have the IR set at >200Mohm but my meter can read to 1999Mohm. He said i should write in the actual result from the meter. I didn't argue but quite frankly the cert was not wrong and 200Mohm is so far away from remotely being a problem i did think WTF, but hey ho

It's came about as you say above like my old boss who would give the tester a hour (two the most) to do a full periodic just gave the tester enough time to do a basic test on a installation with all sorts of DIY additions unmarked board etc. It now forces items to be inspected.
