the individual trainees on here seem to have more knowledge than most of the new member 'sparks' posting on here combined?!?

Boils my blood yet makes me proud at the same time.

An important thing about being an electrician is understanding the science behind what you do. Without that its all monkey see monkey do and guesswork.
As our fundamental credo is to prevent fire and electric shock, guesswork shouldn't come into the equation ever.
