best one was the other day....we get a call from this guy where we had rewired all the lighting for him saying the light in his study wouldn`t work...as part of the lighting rewire we had moved the switch for him (at his request)....my boss hadnt had the time to remove the old light switches but these had been disconnected and awaited removal........he was trying to turn the light on with the old switch..lolffs.....

first thing id do with tripping RCD unplug all appliances then plug in one at a time eliminate the simple things first

Its also amazing that "Splitting a circuit" radial or ring isnt used more often ie 9 points on radial split at point 5 if breaker stays on its between 5 and 9 if it trips its between source and 5 Colleges need to stop 5 week wounder courses and concentrate on producing ELECTRICIANS not "Electricaly qualified",,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I heard a guy call himself an Electrician the other day he had been on a 2 day course on changing lamps and covered a small bit of isolation BUT He was calling himself and his boss was calling him an ELECTRICIAN ffs ffs

I am a strong believer in the process of attending college and doing it that way.....now then,...i started a thread in here earlier on about me gaining part p registration...so i can see a few coming over the hill in response to this post now........but my concern here is that if you go on one of these "short quick fix" courses ...you dont/cant really have the sufficiant knowledge to just start installing all over the place....regardless of what these "quick fix" course providers would have some believe......if it really was that easy then everyone would be at it....and we`d all be out of work.....

Have you tested this theory
[ElectriciansForums.net] Why

I’ve seen more industrial electricians confuse them selves by test.. test.. test.. E-Stop circuits ripped to bits, you name it. Eeerr have you tried turning it on?

Mooga your not on your own wondering why the simple rout isn’t taken first. But I suppose it looks good when you’re padding the bill out.
