Hi, I hope you are all well. I want to ask if there are any considerations to wiring if installed in a cavity wall with soundproofing? Also, do sockets, etc. need to be incased with putty or sealed with sealant?

What is the purpose of the soundproofing? Is it soundproofing of a party wall or partition intended to keep sound out, or is it more along the lines of creating an acoustically isolated room or recording l/broadcast studio?

In the latter case you would normally have a surface mounted electrical installation inside the room with the minimum penetrations of the wall as possible.

Apparently, it is to keep sound out on a party wall.

Then the first thing to do is try not to locate any sockets on that wall as far as possible.

The construction is likely to be battens on the existing wall with dense insulation between and blue plasterboard on the front (possibly a double layer)
I will have to wait and see what is there, when? I don't know but it was interesting to look into it. Thanks
