My Michelle has to have some of the best lyrics:

Your daddy works in ****o
Now that mommy's not around
She used to love her heroin
But now she's underground
So you stay out late at night
And you do your coke for free
Driving your friends crazy
with your life's insanity

Hi Guys,

One of my favourites is:

'Send in your skeletons,
sing as their bones go marching in again,
They need you buried deep,
The secrets that you keep are ever ready'

Best wishes

Rex

I knew the band, the song & the album after the first line!!!......immense!!!!

This has to be one of the most politically powerfull songs ever penned.......& one of my all time faves.....

Born down in a dead man town
The first kick I took was when I hit the ground
You end up like a dog that's been beat too much
Till you spend half your life just covering up

Born in the u.s.a., I was born in the u.s.a.
I was born in the u.s.a., born in the u.s.a.

Got in a little hometown jam
So they put a rifle in my hand
Sent me off to a foreign land
To go and kill the yellow man

Born in the U.S.A...
Come back home to the refinery
Hiring man said son if it was up to me
Went down to see my v.a. man
He said son, don't you understand

I had a brother at Khe Sahn
Fighting off the Viet Cong
They're still there, he's all gone

He had a woman he loved in Saigon
I got a picture of him in her arms now

Down in the shadow of the penitentiary
Out by the gas fires of the refinery
I'm ten years burning down the road
Nowhere to run aint got nowhere to go

Born in the u.s.a., I was born in the u.s.a.
Born in the u.s.a., I'm a long gone daddy in the u.s.a.
Born in the u.s.a., born in the u.s.a.
Born in the u.s.a., I'm a cool rocking daddy in the u.s.a.

You're all gonna hate me for this but ....

Its the time of year
Now that Spring is in the air
When those two wet gits with their girly curly hair
Make another song for moronic holidays
That nauseate-ate-ate
In a million different ways
From the shores of Spain
To the coast of Southern France
No matter where you hide
You just can't escape this dance

Hold a chicken in the air
Stick a deckchair up your nose
Buy a jumbo jet
And then bury all your clothes
Paint your left knee green
Then extract your wisdom teeth
Form a string quartet
And pretend your name is Keith

Skin yourself alive
Learn to speak Arapahoe
Climb inside a dog
And behead an eskimo
Eat a Renault Four with salami in your ears
Casserole your gran
Disembowel yourself with spears

The disco is vibrating
The sound is loud and grating
Its truly nauseating
Let's do the dance again

Hold a chicken in the air
Stick a deckchair up your nose
Yes you'll hear this song in the holiday discos
And there's no escape in the clubs or in the bars
You would hear this song if you holidayed in Mars

Skin yourself alive
Learn to speak Arapahoe
Climb inside a dog
And behead an eskimo
Now you've heard it once
Your brain will spring a leak
And though you hate this song
You'll be humming it for weeks

Hold a chicken in the air
Stick a deckchair up your nose
Buy a jumbo jet
And then bury all your clothes

I’m just listening to “I can’t stop ravin” which will be followed by “Are you ready to dance!” Dune.

Brings back happy memories, along with “Jump” by Scooter.

Totally F**ked up nights!

And you all thought I was one of the elder statesmen of the board! I was still dancing on the centre podium at Ministry of Sound at 42!

My sons birthday present to me was going to Gatecrasher followed by Insomniacs. He was knackered, I was still bouncing at 10am!

Wonder if that why I’m fcuked now!

I have 2 this 1 (MUSIC IS MY FIRST LOVE AND IT WILL ALLWAYS BE MY LAST)
and this 1 ( LIKE A SHOOTING STAR ACROSS THE MIDNIGHT SKY WEREVER YOU ARE YOUR GUNNA SEE ME FLY)

music makes those bad days just barable tbh

I've not noticed The Beatles mentioned on this thread so how about my favourite song by them
Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup
They scatter wildly as they slip away across the universe
Pools of sorrow waves of joy are drifting through my open mind
Possessing and carressing me

Lennon & McCartney possibly the best lyricists ever, discuss:)

And it was not your fault but mine,
it was your heart on the line,
I really F***ed it up this time,
Didn't i my dear?

Little lion man, Mumford and sons

hello, is there any body in there,
just nod if you can hear me
is there anyone at home

Pink Floyd
comfortably numb

White man turns the corner, finds himself withing a different world
ghetto kid grabs his shoulder, throws him up against the wall
he says would you respect me if i didn't have this gun
cause without it i don't get it, and that's why i carry one

Phil Collins, both sides of the story
