please can anyone help.zs on lighting useing 3-leads .where do they go im useing megger mft1553.

lenny one more question pls.I HAVE 3-LEADS COMEING OUT FROM MY MEGGER,looking at the one way switch for the lighting i can see brown-com switchwire-L2 and earth CNNECTED TO THE META LBOX,MY Q IS WHERE DO THE 3-LEADS FROM THE MEGGER GO TO.

Sorry mate, for a 3 lead test with the megger you need to test at a point on the circuit that has a neutral ie. the light fitting or rose.
The green lead connects to the earth the black lead connects to the neutral and the red lead connects to the switched line.

Sintra thanks for that information,so you saying you cant do zs from a one way switch, pls correct me if i understand you wrong

As my esteemed colleague has said in order for 'no trip' test with an MFT you need a neutral present. With only L&E present you can only use the high current loop test function.

Again Page 4 of the link I posted shows this.

Not on a circuit that is RCD protected and has no neutral in the switch. For an RCD protected circuit you have to use the no trip setting on the meter and 3 leads which means you need a connection to neutral.

If the circuit is not RCD protected then use the high setting with 2 leads (red & green) connected to line and cpc in this case it could be tested at the switch.
