Hi all, hopefully just a quick one.

Been asked to install a 16a commando socket in commercial premises for table saw.
It will be on a dedicated 20A radial cct.
Although the appliance is rated at 15A, it does state to allow for currents of up to 18A for start-up.
So my question is relating to the commando socket, would a 16A socket be considered suitable, will it handle the 18A short term current?
Or should I be specifying a 32A commando socket?

Opinions please?

How about if you use one of these? Never actually seen one, but I assume they're not fused?

Edit: And what if you use that on the end of a 16A extension lead?

Well, thanks all for your posts, didnt really consider using a 16A breaker. In my understanding the MCB is there to protect the cable, as a circuit protective device.
And as long as the cable is adequately sized then no probs.

For the person who suggested rotary isolator and fixed wiring; they actually have 2 machines they want in use, however only one socket, only one machine will be used at a time. Otherwise this was my plan.

Final opinions now: 1 x 16A socket on 16A MCB or 20a???
