Can anyone think of a product that is suitable for connecting a 1.5mm fine stranded flexible cable (ferruled of course) to a 4mm single core stranded cable within a galv conduit box?

I'd like to avoid using a screwed connector block if possible. Ideally this connection would be maintenance free also.

Yes mate take the ferrule off the small wire and use one of the new fangled american screwit jobbies lol

Ah yes, the old 'fire starters' lol. Err, no thanks, think I'll give that one a miss!

Is soldering not an option?

No

I could be wrong, but I get the impression someone is extracting something, don't you?

No urine is being extracted. Genuine question

Ah ha!

Tel, thanks for hinting at the lever connectors. It prompted me to do my research on them. I looked on the Wago site and found the Wago 222 series connectors (lever) but they only do up to 2.5mm stranded and up to 4mm fine stranded. Unfortunately the 4mm cable will be stranded, not fine stranded.

However, I found these:

[ElectriciansForums.net] 1.5mm to 4mm?

Wago 221 series connectors (lever)

These do up to 4mm stranded and will also easily cope with 1.5mm fine stranded!

I'd have never thought about them if you hadn't have said so thanks buddy :)

i not got any 4mm, but the 2.5mm, 32A lever wago will just take 6mm with 2 strands cut off. not very scientific but.... why not phone wago or line products and get their input.

edit. just seen you last post. nice one.
