Can anyone think of a product that is suitable for connecting a 1.5mm fine stranded flexible cable (ferruled of course) to a 4mm single core stranded cable within a galv conduit box?

I'd like to avoid using a screwed connector block if possible. Ideally this connection would be maintenance free also.

Dont use anything else than Wago's now. Never seen one burn out or over heat yet, have you? This may sound like advertising lol but have yo seen the new slimline push in Wago's? What a neat job you can get when connecting/extending in back boxes etc. Photo to follow next day or two.

I don't like the slimline ones because they are only rated for solid core cable, so T&E or MI, whereas the normal push fits are rated for solid and coarse stranded so can do singles and SWS etc too.

But having said that I almost exclusively use the 222 lever type these days.

I have never had a problem with connector blocks

melted, rusty, loose connections, poor terminations when trying to get too many in. never had that with wagos. we're not in the 1980's any more when screwless connections were in their infancy. you'd not risk a flight in the wright bros. flyer, but you'd fly in a 737. get with the times, man. even essex.

Never ever used them . When I was young the only push fit was on certain light fittings and they were not very good. So that has put me off them

When up a ladder connecting a light fitting, Wagos make it so much easier, compared to trying to do up a connector block while holding the light fitting at the same time!

**removed**, lever wago's are a lot more reliable than connector strip

That's a bit heavy mate, it's only his opinion! I'm not overly sold on them yet either as first time I used them for a dozen downlights 2 failed. (And yes they were used correctly!)

I rarely use screw connectors anymore. Only if ive not got any wago's on-board for whatever reason. Push fit and lever are the dog's danglers. Not just the quality of the termination but the ease of it as well.

Unless I missed it, there seems an obvious question here not yet asked.
Why do you want to connect 1.5mm[SUP]2[/SUP] to 4.0mm[SUP]2[/SUP]?

Volt drop. Not really an obvious question is it? That is unless my competence is somehow in doubt.

I'm not connecting 1.5mm to 4mm for $hits and giggles am I?!
