    SWA/How deep?

This is the correct answer. Pg 269 Note 1 relates to depth for the values in the tables for soil resistivity.:) Only depth I can find is in 705.522, pg 185 maybe this contradicts the above.:o This is for farms etc. thought cables were always deeper on farms. Or will this be...

Switched fuse on meter tails ?

In answer to your questions; 1. If you are installing Meter Tails then the will be BS6004, Double Insulated just like a Twin and Earth. Both Live, Neutral and Earth should be kept together along the route. 2.Using the above method will require a RCD and Over Current Protection after the DNO...

    Cable Quality

electrician who cant keep his lights on

Suggest you contact DNO again and ask them to check the voltage. They should fit a monitor for atleast a week. Try and get it a bit longer. They will not charge you for this.:) Make sure its connected as close to the incomming cable as possible. Some will just plug into a socket. PM if...

    Bonding again

Good quote re regs there. But I think the issue lies with th looney plumber / gas fitter. With the pipe outside the property, if you were to bond the gas in the kitchen that would be after the branch. Taking the cable outside and connecting to the pipe then means external...

    Admin fee!!

If its costing you money, then thats no good. You trusted them to pay within the time, they didnt. Chase them! or they will drag it out. Have you given them the Report of the Test details yet?

    Admin fee!!

Not 100% sure but legality. But i've been advised to issue term and conditions with quote and get them to sign to say that they agree with your terms. Then in your terms detail payment details and what will happen if payment not received. Would charge at least £20.00 for a letter.

    5.7kw Hob

Is it me or am I the only one to ask  What is the size of the circuit overcurrent device? What is the circuit conductor size? If 32A MCB supplied circuit, wired in 6mm. You still want 2.5 or 4mm? To reduce a cable size you must reduce the protective device.

    Just Priced a canny Job

Was going to answer your original post and now you have come up with some weird way of pricing. Ok with materials plus 20%. It the next bit a cant get.

    quick question.. reference voltage

Is that the full question? Only reference I would use would be Earth! e.g. How would you prove polarity at a TN-C-S supply point. ( No volt stick ) Ans. Sink a Earth spike and bring a lead to the point of test.
