    Micro-generation/smart meters compatibility issues

We went to see a potential customer earlier in the week who had had smart meters fitted recently. He told me that the engineer warned him about problems in the future if a PV system was installed and that it probably wouldn't be compatible with the meters he had fitted. Has anyone heard of...

    PV - Point of Interconnection

I thought that PV being on it's own final circuit was more than just a 'preference'. I can honestly say that I've never heard of a new CU being installed on a ring circuit before either. If you're going to do this then I'd follow Gavin's route and change the breaker for a 20A or even...

    SMA problem

Why not just claim varistor was not faulty and get them to sort you out a new inverter? As you say, why should you repair their faulty item?

    65kW to go...

Indeed it was. They let us down on three deliveries and to make it worse they lied about what time the delivery left the depot. I don't mind installing in the rain. I just don't like doing it if I've been sat in the van for four hours looking at a clear and bright sky waiting for a delivery...

    65kW to go...

I agree, the cost of delivery needs to be put back on somewhere. But this did still make them more competitive than other firms.

    65kW to go...

They give us free delivery (or at least they did) which made things pretty competitive. They've now started charging us though so we're evaluating it again.

    65kW to go...

Usual appalling service from a solar supplier today. Ordered the equipment on Thursday to be delivered on Monday morning. For one reason or another, the order didn't go through and it only left the depot this morning. Even after this let-down, we were told the equipment would be leaving the...

Wrong standard set on Sunnyboy inverter

No, the bonding should be clamped to the consumers side of the gas meter. Regarding the G59/G83-2 question, this is really up to the DNO. The installer will have required prior permission from the DNO to install anyway.

    Mounting system id

Exactly what I thought. Would be really interesting to see how this is fixed. Doesn't appear to have ballasting nor fixings. Also, is it just a trick of the camera or is that front row very close to the front wall? Sorry, can't help with the mounting system. Never seen it before.

New Roof type for Us, Help Please

We've installed on them before. Each block of 'tiles' needs to be taken off individually and then reinstalled back over the bracket. We used lot of lead to keep it weathertight and it took ages. One issue could be the strength of the roof - these roof coverings are light and the roof may have...
